Plane of Sky

New postby Bill » Thu Apr 01, 2004 11:45 pm

As of tonight, I have completed my goal of visiting all of the "old world" planes (Planes of Fear, Hate, Mischief, Growth and now, Sky). PoSky is the most unusual, by far, being islands of land floating in some ether. Players must complete simple quests (at least at the onset) to hop from one island to another. Nasty, high-level mobs here (goes without saying, I'm sure). Here is a screenshot...

Image

Strange, flying creatures in the distance near a peculiar sort of windmill.
It was Dreila who had the opportunity to visit there tonight.

Xanamech, Plane of Innovation

New postby Bill » Thu Apr 01, 2004 11:47 pm

Earlier this week, Praecantor and Vonalevu took part in a guild raid on the Plane of Innovation to kill its big mob, Xanamech, a nasty, ancient mechanical/magical dragon. Mystic Swords of Honor once again prevailed...

Once we set up in our places, it was entertaining to watch the control gnome waddle up to the fallen bucket of bolts and activate it. Hard to make out detail here, but this does show the creature's enormity, one wing prevalent (this, from Von's viewpoint).

Time to say good bye...
After 4 years of playing EQ, I am calling it quits. Just taking a moment in retrospect to look back at my most active characters.

Tholuxe Paells
Bighammer Metalwield, dwarf warrior, lvl 23 (my first toon)

Ayonae Ro
Tandayan Aerie, wood elf druid, lvl 56
Oruna, erudite enchanter, lvl 51
Gheddy Lhee, wood elf bard, lvl 30

Xev
Vonalevu Olath`Noamuthen, dark elf wizard, lvl 54
Bigghamma, dwarf warrior, lvl 24 (my final toon)
Dreila Nytingale, dwarf cleric, lvl 65
Tterrell Cletusjackson, erudite shadowknight, lvl 47
Fyrtaup, high elf enchanter, lvl 30

Luclin
Tiindle Flashbacks, gnome mage, lvl 28

Honorable Mention...
Ayonae Ro: Peltus, lvl 17 human paladin; Myocardia, lvl 20 high elf cleric
Luclin: Sakabi, lvl 20 vah shir beastlord
Xev: Besette, lvl 21 wood elf druid; Maroni, lvl 20 barbarian shaman; Barrarh, lvl 17 ogre berserker
...and a handful of lowbies.

My only regret is that I didn't experience playing a necromancer past 6th level or a rogue at all.

Many thanks to Lyle Austin for coaxing me into playing EQ. I will miss our Tuesday nights in Norrath, Lyle.

Wow. I hope I didn't contribute (too much) to killing EQ. I still have my characters on Xev and haven't made plans yet to cancel my account. (Of course, I havn't played in weeks.) Maybe we should have a farewell outting.

You should sell those toons on E-bay.

None whatsoever. But I appreciate the concern, Bud, and am delighted to see you have such a healthy self-esteem.

I just realized that I did not tell you guys that I canceled my Everquest account about 2 months ago.
I was not playing EQ or EQ2 any more so I bailed. I even removed the games from my computer.

CoH/CoV is the only online game I play now.
