Jerri, D-n-D Story stuff that is causing me to loose focus.

New postby Jeff » Sun Dec 11, 2005 9:17 am

Hi Jerri,

Forgotten Realms, Inn called the Nighthunt, a favorite of adventurers and Harpers that is out of the way in the Delimbry Vale. Currenty not a very safe Vale to be in, Shadows & Zhents causing all sorts of mayhem, besides the normal Hobgoblin raids, slavers band etc.

The Inn is run by a company of ex-adventurers the leader of which is an Ex-ranger now just a fighter, he won't explain why.(BTW all this is in Volo's guide to North and a few newer texts.) And, the rest of the staff are his daughters and the comapny of adventures who retired with him.

Of the Ex-rangers 4 daughters, who all work at the Inn, 2 are adventure crazy, 1 must be a fighter or fighter/thief or Bard combo of some sort the other can be anything but a cleric. Their training can have come at the hands of the staff or any of the adventurers passing thru. Lots of down on the luck adventures who could pay in services and do.

One of the Staff adventures who has been with the father since he began adventuring is actually an ancient Silver Dragon whose lair is the the cloud that never leaves the Vale but travels all around the Inn and never goes away.

One day he brings in his daughter, who happens to have been living with her mother since hatching more then a 150 years ago. She is now disguised as a Half-elven Fighter/ Magic user or if one of the Human Daughters is not one already, she can be a Bard.

After hanging around, dad for a few weeks (whom she considers to be boring), she realizes the girls and her have the same desire.

How the girls approach the parents with their idea to strike out as an Adventuring Band, what they call themselves, how the parents react I leave up to you.

I would suggest that the Dragon never reveal her true nature unless she absolutely has too.

Anyway, this was clogging up my brain and I had to get it out.
Now back to work.

Jerri won't know either.
The Ex-ranger part was in the book, the rest of the story just was camping out in my brain, stopping me from working on the rest of what I needed to do.

I know! He used soap!

That or farted a squirrel to death.

Bob, Bud,

Where did the idea of the "Book of Radiance" come from?

How many spells are in it presently?

And, what are they?

Waited 45 minutes, eh!

Only Bud knows, since he never finished it as far as I know.
Anyway, he never provided a copy. I'm not sure how much
Pascal wants to share the knowledge with others.

I belive the idea had something to do with Pascal's religious
beliefs (or something).

The only tidbit I have is that it cost almost his entire share of
the big diamond (or all of it) & "Book of radiance (18,8,5,0,0,4)
base". Both are things the DM should already know. Of course,
my notes could be wrong.

I believe Bud actually penned a couple of spells for this. Of course,
I could be wrong about that too...and don't count on Bud being able
to find them

Anyway, I like it. The DM is working on something :D

Yes,I am.
And, thank you for answering.

If Bud has left town, I'll have to postpone working onpart ofwhat I'm doing and concentrate on other parts.

Thank you again.

We decided (or you could say, were convinced) to stay.

I'll dig out the BoR and give you the details. Jerri was asking me about it; said you were trying to figure out who came up with it. As you all know my memory is faulty so correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I was disappointed w/Pascal's spells and wanted more w/the possiblity to pen a few of my own. I don't remember if it was me or Jeff who recommended the posiblity of trading Pascal's share of the big diamond for the book, but I believe I came up w/the idea of basing it on he demi-elemental plane of Radiance and linking it w/Lathander (Pascal's diety).

Then, Bob wrote a detailed description of what it might look like (binding, contents, etc.) w/o specifying all the spells and we ran with it. I've since added a few radiance-based spells, but I've never completed it. I don't know if I can find the soft copy, but I'm sure I have a hard copy w/Pascal.

I'm glad to have you here and safe, I'm sorry that you won't be spending time with Curt. There must be a big story there.

Thank you for Looking into the BoR.
I do appreciate it.

Caldwell Cavern will be available any time after noon. Before that the gargoyles will be running free.
