Neverwinter nights

OK, I picked up Neverwinter nights platinum a while back and finally
got around to playing it. It included 2 expansion packs. The inital
game was good almost on par with BG. Uses AD&D 3rd edition rules.

The 1st expansion was a little skinny.

The 2nd expansion starts off on the wrong foot by taking all your stuff
(had like 4 bags of holding...). It does let you keep coin, so convert to
cash and create a save file when you finish the 1st one. Ending was an
anti-climax (having purchased the true name of the devil while in hell).

Ended up with a level 28 epic rogue (elf). Being a straight rogue was a
bit of a pain at points, since you have to take out a number of Dragons.
Had a pair of nasty longswords in the end (one dripping green acid and
the other pulsing blue with electrical energy). Had some damage absorbing
elven chain and haste boots as well 8)

Oh, the 3rd and final guardian in the 2nd (Underdark) expansion is bugged.
I found it unkillable until I download the patch.

Doh, I did the initial game without knowing you can click on your group
members, select change tactics and select change inventory (whatever)
to give them potions or ammo (or have them carry junk when your too
heavy)

I have not and probably will not play with the associated DM tools or PvP.

 Wow! Pretty cool that a cat can play computer games.

Sounds interesting. I'm actually somewhat interested in the DM tools. I may have to pick it up next time I see it for sale cheap.

Yes we (Bob's cats) are most talented

FYI the DM tools are to make modules to be played under the
NWN engine. I doubt they would be any use as tools for the
pen & paper world.

That's what I figured. Jeff was telling me about this some time back. I'm still somewhat interested in playing w/them.

Well, if I can remember to de-install it and toss it in the bag before we
play DnD again...

I believe it checks with a server on install, so I'll have to check if its
transferable. I doubt I'll restart with a different class or anything.

Don't worry about it. I've seen it in the cheep pile at most gaming stores.
