interresing in Roborally, Civilization or Carrabande

New postby Robert » Tue Oct 11, 2005 7:23 pm

Hi guys (living in Phoenix area),

I would like to play a a round of those games.

Roborally: running around an industry floor with some "movement cards". Reaching checkpoints first and try not to be shot, smashed, crushed, thrown into a pit, ... and finish the game first. A really fun game easy rules, should be 5 robot player minimum

Civilization: the "original board game", each player tries to bring his civilization first to be "civilized", complex rules, but learn while playing, I really like this game, but it has a drawback. should be 5 player minimum (6 or 7 are better) and 1 - 1.5 h playtime per player, so normally it last for 7 - 9 h (normally with a dinner break :-)

Carrabande: this is a car racing game while you can drink beer. very easy rules, ~ 15 - 20 minutes per game, fun with 4 - 8 player (best is 6 or 8 and 2 are building a team)

So what do you think?

Robert

Sounds like we should plan a game night some time soon.

Hm... doesn't seem like there's a lot of interest in the games themselves. Maybe a better tactic would be to bribe people w/homemade German pretzles and beer, then pull out the games after everybody's had a few.
