Supercars!

New postby Bud » Sat Jun 10, 2006 12:30 pm

We were talking about supercars the other night, so I thought I'd start a discussion here.

Jeff, Is this the car you were talking about?

Dig it: Fulda Maybach Exelero

the Exelero reached a top speed of 351.45 kmh.

BTW: I believe you were thinking of the speed numbers in km/h, not mi/h (351 km/h = 218 mi/h = pretty damn fast.)

Of course, any discussion of supercars has to include the Enzo.

Also a 218 mph car.

Here's the one I was talking about...

The Bugatti Veyron has a 1001 HP W16 engine and active airodynamics and suspension. It's currently the worlds fastest "production" car, capable of speeds over 250 mph.

Check out this article.

All very pretty vehicles.

KPH to MPH, I forgot that Beyond Tomorrow is an Austrailian show
and watched the episode again last night at 2:00 AM where they
quoted the speed in KPH, you beat me to the post.

What a great joy it must be to drive one of these supercars!

Yes, the Maybach was the car.

Discovery Science Channel had a special
on Concept Cars from alot of different
auto makers, including a guy who will
make whatever concept car you want,
if you can afford it.

Discovery Science Channel is 102 on Cox
if you get their extended service.

Here's an article that actually gives you a good idea what the Veyron is like. It's a very intertaining read, I highly recommend it.

Bugatti. In a drag race you could let the McLaren [F1] get to 120mph before setting off in the Veyron. And you’d still get to 200mph first. The Bugatti is way, way faster than anything else the roads have seen.

Of course, at £810,000, it is also jolly expensive,

"Jolly" expensive. :roflmao:

10 — count them — 10 radiators.

Absolutely amazing!

I just realized that this thread was woefully inadequate. It didn't contain a link to the McLaren F1.

I just read the article and perused the other two sites.
And, I must say, it's time to change my underwear.
Goodnight, and thanks so much for stopping by.

OK this one's a little dated, which is exactly what makes it so impressive. In light of the fact that it just sold at Barret Jackson for a record setting $5,000,000, I think it deserves a post.

First show is February 7th.
