Did we mention this set a new lap count record (380) at LeMans?

[from Audi's website]
The new Audi R10 TDI is powered by a completely new 5.5-litre, twelve-cylinder bi-turbo TDI engine which is extremely economical and quiet.

The Le Mans Prototype, with over 650 hp and more than 1100 Newton metres of torque, significantly exceeds the power produced by the majority of previous Audi racing cars...

That's 811 lb-ft for us non-metric types. Over twice the 400 my 'Vette has.

The Rednecks are in Kentucky. In Arizona, we're red all over.

F1 has come to the states!

Sunday is the US Grand Prix at Daytona Intl. Speedway. The show airs at 9:00 AM, but if anybody wants to join me to watch it later in the day on TiVo, I'll wait to watch it. It'd be a good way to spend a few hours of the long Independance Day weekend!

Also, there are several other races this weekend. I'm watching the Grand Am race right now.

Overall, Audi... who else? In the R8, BTW. GT1, I'm not saying. I will say the margin of victory was 0.033 of a second. Freekin' awesome last lap.

Good F1 race today! I like the new qualifying format. Qualifying was as good as the race start and both were awesome!

The two Audi R10 TDI sports-prototypes start the seventh race of the American Le Mans Series at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI from the first row.
The race can be viewed live on SPEED Channel at 2:00 PM CST on Sunday, August 20.

But I'm sure Mr. Bud is WELL aware of this already. :P

It's a big race weekend. There's a 9-hour Grand Am endurance race going on right now and there's a ALMS race tomorrow.
