Happy New Year!!!

I always knew Bob was a quick leaner.
I usually don't get the date correct until my Birthday in June!

Well, its still "Guest", so we have no clue who "me" would be

However, the rule of thumb is never upgrade a hack POS OS. This covers
all versions of all M$ OSs  If you must, it is best to wipe the disk and
install from scratch :x

Of course, you must take real care. If the M$ POS OS install sees other
partitions harboring a real OS, it will try to eat them during the install.
However, it may ask if you want to use the unused partition. Oh thats
"unused" as in not used by a M$ OS

Hope the hardware vendor didn't stick ya with any funky (non-standard)
devices with funky os/vendor specific drivers. Especially if the vendor does
not sell a XP based PC with that specific device.

Otherwise, enjoy the quality time with your PC. Let the anger simmer, then
remember that M$ wants to go to a subscription based system where you'll be
writing an annual (hmm, I may have an extra 'n' and vowel in there) check
to M$ for the privilege of being tormented like this.

Ooo, those Mac G5s are sweeeeet...

The NeXT and Nextstep OSs ran on 486/586 systems. Bit skimpy on
drivers. I see no reason why they could not quickly port OS X to the
latest Intel chip set 8) Given a nice set of drivers, it could be a real
nightmare for M$. :D However, they probably would not do it unless
M$ really pissed them off.

Um... I'm pretty familiar with Linux. I've written a USB device driver for an embedded system that ran Linux and I did the development on a Linux system using the GNU tools. As soon as I build up a decent server for the office, I'm going put Linux on the old one.

Soon enough for you?
