Songwriting
I've always wanted to learn to write music and, since I'm learning to play an instrument, I'm starting to understand how it might be done. So, I thought I'd start a discussion on it and maybe share what I learn and possibly get info from friends who know a little something about songwriting.
This week, I made up what might be the chorus to my very first song. It's just a simple open G-D-A chord progression that I stole from Perl Jam's "Alive" with a kind of interesting rythm and an open strum or two, but I like it and I've had great fun this weekend playing variations on it on my acoustic guitar. It sticks in your head like a commercial jingle, so who knows, it may be worth developing into a full song.
